'Another proud white woman for Hillary'--AmericaBlog. Harriett Christian. Mad and sad.

[SOURCE]

Wowzers. 15 minutes of infamy. I hope her hangover isn't made worse by seeing her performance permanently etched on the Internet.

Sad deal, really. I sure hope there was alcohol involved. Even if there wasn't, I'd claim there was, if I were her. A lot of it.

Obama quit his church over the ranting's others. Harriett Christian, in the video above, makes a case for Hillary quitting a supporter(and the campaign). The problem is, the woman in this video represents far too typical the anger I sense from the Clintonistas. I think that anger has more than a little to do with why Hillary lost this race. It's a little like the old Kennedy-Nixon TV debates; when JFK stayed calm, kewl and collected while Nixon broke out in a sweat on camera and lost some composure too.

What gets me cranky are whack-jobs like the woman in this video trying to claim they speak for more than their damn-selves, and playing the sex and race cards every damn time they don't get their way.

I'm old, white, and male and I think Obama is the better candidate, and I'm going to vote for him in the General Election. If it makes the woman in this video feel better to vote for McCain, so-be-it. My vote cancels hers. She'll be just as disappointed and angry in November when her horse finishes a distant second (or pulls up lame) in the General Election. Coz there is no-way-in-hell McCain is winning this election. Ain't gonna happen. Just wait until we get to see the real John McCain ... when his temper gets the best of him and he pops a vein on camera. It's only a matter of time.

It has jack-shit to do with which candidate is the most experienced or qualified, and really it doesn't have a whole lot to do with the details of each issue either. It has everything to do with the strength and energy that the electorate infuse in a candidate. It  comes from WE-THE-PEOPLE.

Look at more than just the size of the crowds that Obama attracts; look at the positive energy in those crowds. By comparison, look at the video above to see the type of energy Clinton supporters bring to Hillary. It is an angry, hate-filled and negative energy that Hillary attracts.

The positive strength and energy necessary to be a successful President comes from the electorate; from WE-THE-PEOPLE; from those to be governed. It is that intangible that accounts for why Bush was never anyone's, much less everyone's President in all of his 8 years. Bush sucked because the electorate never elected him, and they never swapped that energy with him.  It's why he has had to seek energy and power elsewhere (flight suits, cowboy boots, and machismo TALK, in Bush's case). WE-THE-PEOPLE never gave Bush any of our energy, and he has sapped all of ours'. It's called 'Bush fatigue' and it has now infected the entire nation. You can't govern those who do not wish to be governed. WE-THE-PEOPLE cannot, and ultimately will not, be denied; despite the best efforts of the Corporatocracy.

There is a give and take between the electorate and the candidate; an exchange of positive energy and power that supercedes the negative impact of playing the race & sex cards. Hillary speaks about Hillary. Obama speak about WE-THE-PEOPLE. Hillary is that bad date that spends the entire evening talking about themselves.

We Don't Need Insurance, We Need Guaranteed Healthcare - 'It's the CORPORATOCRACY, stupid!'

Even Republican President Nixon proposed it 34 years ago!

Visit http://www.guaranteedhealthcare.org/blog and support CNA (California Nurses Association)'s plan, and the NNOC (National Nurses Organizing Committee). Their's is far and away the best plan for America.

Or, maybe you're the so-called kind of 'patriot' who is already covered (for the moment) and says, 'I've got mine, you get yours'.

"The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness."--John Kenneth Galbraith

Maybe you're the so-called kind of patriot who doesn't care that your country ranks so low as a 3rd-world nation on preventable deaths, and piss-poor access to healthcare. Sure, this country has great Doctors and Nurses and healthcare professionals of all types ... but fewer and fewer Americans have access to the care they provide!

CNA wants us ALL to have healthcare as a basic right. CNA wants to cut the middle-man-profit-whores out of healthcare.

Healthcare is a service, even a right, and should not be a for-profit 'industry'! The answer to the problems of healthcare in America are right there in the the way we refer to it: 'The Healthcare Industry'. Enough of the robber-baron insurance thieves!

'It's the CORPORATOCRACY, stupid!' None of the Presidential candidates has a healthcare plan that is the correct solution. In fact, John McCain has never in his long 71+ years had to even THINK about his healthcare coverage. John McCain cannot possibly even RELATE to the stress of no healthcare coverage that 47+ MILLION Americans, or the millions more who have coverage but cannot afford their co-pays and deductibles, know about! Not a single one of those people should even consider a vote for John McCain as a result! He hasn't got a CLUE.  He can't know your pain. How can McCain have your best interests at heart when he can't possible understand what he has never come close to experiencing???

McCain was BORN outside the U.S.A. as a military brat and he has had full healthcare coverage, courtesy of the American taxpayer for every damn second of his entire 71 years! And now with his wife being a zillionaire, he wouldn't really even need it even if if he wasn't covered by taxpayers!!! If we cover old folks, if we cover government employees, if we cover Vets, why don't we cover every American child? Why don't we just cover EVERY American, period? Think about it people. Think 'Cheney-care'. Only CNA/NNOC has got it right! Support their efforts, and let's get 'er done. Who knows better than a Nurse!

'It sounds like a left-wing blogger.' says Rove to Sean Insanity about Scot McClellan's new book. How does Karl have time to read anything but Subpoenas these days?

Is anyone the least bit surprised that Karl Rove and the right-wing-nut radio-republicans have immediately launched an attack campaign to discredit Scot McClellan? A counter-offensive as it were.

'It sounds like a left-wing blogger.'-- Karl Rove

Damn, it must be good then; I'll have to pick-up a copy. Couldn't ask for a better endorsement / recommendation than that one!

I'm just amazed that Karl Rove has time to read anything other than Subpoenas these days.

Rove Subpoenaed Again

Karl should slow down on this reading ... leave himself something to read when his lard-ass is chillin' in the Federal pen.

McCain is the LOBBYISTs' Candidate. McCain - Friend of the Corporatocracy. McCain - Hypocrite.

In-case you haven't been paying attention John McCain's campaign staff is largely made up of LOBBYISTS representing the CORPORATOCRACY, and they have been resigning like poop through a goose, over their conflict-of-interest issues.

Did you know that? Have you been paying attention to this fact, or has all the news coverage surrounding the Democratic race obliterated that news? I mean I think Hillary Clinton asked ONE of her campaign staff to resign over lobbyist connections and it was big news when it happened. Hell, you'd have to work at finding someone on McCain's campaign staff who isn't connected to one lobbyist firm or another! Sheez.

John McCain advisers going down like flies over lobbying ties

"John McCain has stitched together a whirlwind campaign for president after overcoming steep odds to win the nomination for the Republican Party, but many senior staffers are falling like flies thanks to their ties with lobbyists." [SOURCE]

Mid-May was when newspapers around the world began to report on this issue.

Another top McCain official resigns

McCain's Finance Co-Chair Resigns in Ongoing Lobbyist Purge

Another McCain Adviser Quits Amid Ethics Crackdown

Since that time little has changed in the McCain campaign because if every staffer that McCain has employed were to resign or be fired, McCain would be virtually alone. Hell, someone should do a background check on the bus driver for McCain's 'Pure Bullshit Express' ... who knows, that person might be a lobbyist too! McCain would probably be brewing his own coffee if all his lobbyist pals were eliminated from his campaign staff.

But, McCain's chief economic advisor (remember, McCain himself has admitted to not being the sharpest knife in the drawer or the brightest bulb in the box when it comes to the economy) Phil Graham remains onboard the 'Pure Bullshit Express' despite the fact that he's clearly a lobbyist whore whose all for helping Wall Street at the expense of Main Street!

Here are just some of the names of McCain staffers who have come and gone, and to links to reports of their departures:

· Craig Shirley

· Eric Burgeson

· Doug Goodyear

· Doug Davenport

· Charles R. Black, Jr.

· Tom Loeffler

Hey, that's 6 and counting. WTF? What kind of main stream media uproar would we be seeing and hearing if either Clinton or Obama were forced to jettison an entire basketball team plus one reserve????!!!! I think McCain should step down and the Republicans should beg Hillary Clinton to accept their Party's nomination, so we can keep the Obama-Clinton fight raging for a few more months! ;-) The McCain players in that list are not nice people, folks. Some were lobbying on behalf of military dictators like Burma /Myanmar who we've seen in the news recently are perfectly willing to let their people die in natural disasters rather than allow rescue and aid workers into their country for fear that the world will see the atrocities they have been subjecting their citizen to in secret! Those are the types of governments that McCain staffers support for God sakes people, wake up and get the facts before you pull another Bush!

And those represent just the tip of the iceberg!

McCain's lobbyist problems continue - will Phil Gramm now resign?

"Besides lobbying for UBS - one of the worst hit banks in the subprime crisis, based in Europe - McCain national campaign co-chair, economic adviser and possible choice for Treasury Secretary, Phil Gramm played a critical role in setting up countless problems that the US is facing today. It was his signature legislation that cast aside Depression era laws and regulations, creating the Wild West gambler environment that has forced a bailout of the industry and thrown the entire US economy (and soon world) into a tailspin." [AMERICABlog]

Hell, if Graham doesn't quit, who knows, he might get arrested, instead!

McCain Adviser Phil Gramm Shaped McCain’s Economic Policy While Lobbying For Foreign Bank»

Phil Graham, a lobbyist friend of Enron, was on the 'UBS' payroll as a LOBBYIST, as late as 4/17/08 and according to some reports, remains an executive of UBS despite new rules announced my McCain campaign manager Rick Davis but OOPS! Rick Davis is himself a professional lobbyist! Will Rick Davis ask himself to resign?

"Those rules were laid down by campaign manager Rick Davis, who - like many campaign operatives both Republican and Democrat - has made his off-the-campaign-trail living as a lobbyist. For the past 10 years, Davis has been on leave from the lobbying firm [truth is, he's simply an unregistered lobbyist] that bears his name, Davis Manafort." [SOURCE]

The point is this, John McCain is a hypocrite:

The Anti-Lobbyist, Advised by Lobbyists

John McCain is a flip-flopper. John McCain is a puppet of the Corporatocracy. John McCain's candidacy represents the 3rd Bush term, plain and simple. Perhaps even worse, if you can imagine that. McCain is a corporate shill. John McCain is all for Wall Street, and Main Street America be damned. Bush has damaged America. We cannot tolerate anymore of those failed policies.

And there is a theme here. McCain is inconsistent, wishy-washy, a flip-flopper. He hires and fires campaign staff like poop-through-a-goose; he accepts and brags about the endorsements from religious zealots, and then rejects the same ones later; along those same lines, McCain has had multiple wives, and rumored to have had an affair[the dude likes lobbyists so much that he even chooses lobbyists to flirt with!]. He flip-slops on the issues too! First he says the telecoms should apologize, then they shouldn't. First he's gonna support our troops then he's a no-show on an important vote for a new G.I. Bill. McCain is a Bush brown-noser, and no one likes a brown-noser.

VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA!

If Some Radio Talk Show Host Has You Convinced That DEMs Have Controlled Congress Since '06, Let Me Explain Why You 'Don't GET-IT'!

I spent a few weeks leading up to the Oregon primary staffing a call center for 3 and 4 hours per evening, calling on registered voters.

Out of literally thousands of calls, a few were truly memorable conversations. I characterize those memorable ones as running about 2-out-of-3 to the positive. Meaning, that I learned something, or gained some insight from the 2-out-of-3 positive ones as I called to encourage them to get their ballots in, etc. But, that 3rd one out of 3 ... now those were doozies.

One in particular that prompts this post was a gentleman in a rural area of southern Oregon who was a registered Democrat but who was convinced that all of his current, personal economic difficulties were caused by the Democrats being in charge of Congress since November '06, and the way they had rescinded Bush's tax cuts. When I gently probed to understand WTF he meant ... he was completely and totally convinced that within hours of taking over a majority position in Congress that the Democrats had rolled back everything Bush and the previous Republican majority had done to reduce his personal tax burden. I was thinking to myself, "wholly shit, I have met the enemy, and he is us".

I really wanted to ask this guy which AM Radio Talk Show host had fed him that line of BS that he had so readily swallowed, hook, line and sinker, but alas, engaging that poor bastard in some lengthy political debate was beyond the scope of my assigned task. By-the-way, it takes 60 votes in the Senate to get past the Minority Party's filibusters and presidential veto tactics, etc so despite the DEMS slight majority, they are far from the 60-vote super-majority needed to actually get any real work done in a Senate loaded with OBSTRUCTIONST-Bush-bumlicker Republicans, like Oregon's Gordon Smith, for instance. And if ya wonder why they haven't impeached Bush, it's coz it would take a 67 votes in the Senate to accomplish that, and that isn't in the cards. But, it is why, if you are tired of all the BS, you need to do everything in your power to elect more Democrats.

Obviously, this guy was seriously misinformed, and ignorant to how his Government and Congress work. The surprising thing was that he was currently a registered Democrat ... I'm thinkin' he was told to switch registrations during the primary by those same AM Radio talk show hosts.

This highlights two fundamentals about the GOP platform and the Republican game plan. Harsh, but simply true:

1) The survival of the GOP is dependent upon an un-educated electorate, or at least one that is not paying attention; only stupid sheep vote for Republicans. Only those who are too lazy to care, or can be easily mislead, misinformed, and brainwashed ... in short, the weak minded.

2) The survival of the GOP hinges upon voter suppression. There are always far more registered Democrats than there are registered Republicans; primarily because there are more poor folks than rich folks. More working-class Americans than passive-dividend-class Americans (who produce nothing). So, if every Democrat votes, no Republicans ever get elected. Why do you think that our prison system houses so many more minorities, the mentally challenged, and poor folks versus rich folks? Poor-folks=Democrats and Rich folks=Republicans. Ya can't vote from behind bars, and in many red-states you can never regain your right to vote again after otherwise paying your debit to society. Why do you think that the GOP invented the non-existent issue of voter fraud? They do that just like their executive pals in big-pharma invent new names and Ad campaigns to sell prescription drugs to the masses for ailments that don't exist. Same diff. There are a million ways to suppress the vote ... some very creative, some down-right illegal. Republicans invented 'em all, and apply them all, as often as they can. They don't even deny it. It's no secret. They're proud of it. They do it because their very survival depends upon it.

In summary, the Republican Party's survival is predicated upon lying, spinning-the-truth, misleading, misinforming the electorate, and finding ways to suppress the ability for working-class Americans to cast their vote. If you don't get this basic truth ... you just don't get any damn thing.

Gimmie a 'Bud', or Gimmie a 'Bev'? No one in Oregon cares!

But, I'm not sure anyone in Oregon will notice:

Oregon's Beer Industry Continues Boom

As an Oregonian, I suppose my perspective could be a tad skewed, but I cannot remember the last time I drank, sipped, or chugged a national brand beer. Why would I? I live in Portland, Oregon ... we have a wide variety of plentiful, real beers here; local and fresh. Who drinks that factory produced swill anyway? Probably voters in Kentucky and West Virginia I'd guess. ;-)

Do you prefer your milk from some giant corporate dairy half a continent away, or fresh from a local farm? Same deal with your suds, Bub (not Bud).

Way back in 2001 National Geographic crowned Oregon:

Craft Brewing Defines Oregon as U.S. "Beer Capital"

Since that time Portland has gone on to capture world honors ... or depending on where you read it, the Universe:

Portland: The center of the beer universe

Here's an excerpt:

... here it is in shorthand: Portland is “Beervana.” And, yes, to beer lovers in search of the finest configurations of the world’s classic beer styles – all in one place, all freshly brewed, all on tap no more than 10 or 15 minutes away from any spot in the city – Portland indeed is “Brewtopia.”

Check that 'Beervana' designation over on Wikipedia, here's an excerpt fur ya:

"Beervana

Portland, Oregon, has earned the name Beervana by having more breweries than any other city in the world, with 33 breweries just within the city limits.[citation needed] The McMenamin brothers alone have over thirty brewpubs, distilleries and wineries scattered throughout the metropolitan area, many in renovated theaters and other old buildings otherwise destined for demolition. Other notable Portland brewers include Widmer Brothers, BridgePort Brewing Company and the MacTarnahan's Brewing Company. In 1999, "beerhunter" and author Michael Jackson called Portland a candidate for the beer capital of the world because the city boasted more breweries than Cologne, Germany.[citation needed]"

In a place where the beers are named things like: 'Terminator Stout', 'Hair of the Dog', 'Dead Guy Ale', 'Full Sail Ale', 'Mirror Pond', 'Hammerhead', 'Black Rabbit Porter', 'Black Lab(rador) Stout', 'Stumptown Porter', and 'Reggie's Red' ...

And we have Public Television Documentaries on the Oregon Beer industry:

Beervana documentary

I mean seriously folks, when the USDA comes a callin' and askin' you to EXPORT YOUR BEER TO CHINA ... doesn't that pretty much say it all?

Stephanopoulos must be angling for a second tour of duty as a Clinton Press Secretary.

AmericaBlog answers the question about a party's presumptive nominee losing in some states and in some cases by a wide margin:

"In fact, Huckabee beat McCain by 44 points in the Kansas caucuses, 40 points in the Arkansas primary, and 21 points in the Iowa caucuses, and Romney beat McCain by 85 points in the Utah primary, 40 points in the Colorado caucuses, 38% in the Nevada caucuses, 31% in the Maine caucuses, and 19% in the Minnesota caucuses. So your point being? Yes, whatever will we do if Obama can't beat Hillary in two of the smallest states in the union. Add this to the list of things that apparently don't count - any Obama victories larger than West Virginia and Kentucky."

'If Barr is right, McCain won't just be beaten, he'll be licked'--Dana Milbank - WaPo

Bobbarr Looks like the Libertarian Party (ya know, Republicans who smoke pot) picked their candidate for Prez over the holiday weekend.

Is this guy like, Roseanne's husband, or what?

Things I read about Barr in a Washington Post article by Dana Milbank titled: 'A Spoiler, by Way of the Dairy Case'. Although, I might have titled it "Bring In The Clowns" myself:

Bob Barr has-been married 3 times (very McCain and Republican-like).

Bob Barr allegedly licked whipped cream off the breasts of two women at a charity event when running for the House in 1994 (very Bill Clinton like, except for who does the licking);

Bob Barr was one of the managers of Bill Clinton's impeachment (probably saw too much of himself in the guy).

Bob Barr accidentally fired a .38-caliber pistol through a glass door at a fundraising reception during some 2002 primary campaign (very DICK Cheney-like).

Bob Barr appeared in the film "Borat," where his bit was to make a pinched expression after being told that the cheese he had just sampled came from a woman's breast milk (I think it's safe to say he's a boob-man, all things considered).

Here is a direct excerpt from Milbank's piece:

"He listed his grievances: government eavesdropping, suspending habeas corpus, runaway spending. Americans "deserve better," he said. "I believe they deserve better. And the Libertarian Party deserves they believe better."

Deserves they believe better? [BloggerRadio adds: "very George Bush-like".]

Barr could be forgiven the slip-up, and problems with subject-verb agreement throughout his speech. He could also be forgiven for going on too long, to the point that his wife consulted her watch and Verney studied the campaign banner. His flushed face and gyrating body made it clear that he was fired up -- and ready to exploit McCain's troubled relations with conservatives." [SOURCE]

Hehe, and some say that the Democrats are guilty of circular firing squads. This election-cycle is gonna be some-fun. This is sooooo much better than that so-called reality TV crap.

It's all Hollywood. A sham. Congress isn't going to do anything meaningful. It's just to fool the fools in places like West Virginia and Kentucky!

Here is a REAL solution ... instead of taking a slow screwing, WE-THE-PEOPLE should take these ass-holes down with us ... we're going down anyway ... let's at least take these lying sacks of shit with us.

Lets do what Wall Street does. Let's TAKE-OVER, and part-out the Oil Companies. Ya know how those Financial firms come along and buy a company and then destroy the thing, selling off it's parts and pieces ... let's WE-THE-PEOPLE do the same thing to the Oil companies.

NATIONALIZE the Oil companies NOW. Let's have the Federal Government take-over the Oil companies ... send their executives directly to the unemployment line minus any severance coz zillionaires don't need no stinking golden parachute. Forget about increasing supply and processing, the oil companies have; instead, let's RAISE the price of the shit even higher ... make the shit totally unaffordable, and any profits the Gov't makes on still selling the shit to those who could still afford to pay for it goes 100% into the development of alternative fuels ... and keep that up until we have put that Nationalized business out of fucking business altogether. Take it over, and then put it out of its misery ... it's the only way to marginalize both beasts, Oil and, OPEC.

The world will ultimately be a better place. THAT is the war we should be waging, and in that case, the hotter the war, the sooner the peace. The war on oil companies and oil. Let's get it on.

'It seems the more customers we lose, and the lower the stock price goes, the more executive compensation rises'

That quote comes from Donnetta Mitchell, president of the Association of US West Retirees for Montana, Idaho and Utah during QWest's annual shareholder meeting in Denver. She chided QWest for trying to reduce retiree life insurance and death benefits. "You guys have enough money, believe me. Retirees do not."

It's not surprising; just more of the same-old-same-old. Whenever you have a GOP Republican run national economy, it breeds robber-barons throughout. It reminds me of these quotes:

"The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness."--John Kenneth Galbraith

"Democracy is when the indigent, and not the men of property, are the rulers."--Aristotle

"Not until the creation and maintenance of decent conditions of life for all people are recognized and accepted as a common obligation of all people and all countries - not until then shall we, with a certain degree of justification, be able to speak of humankind as civilized."--Albert Einstein

QWest is the local carrier in my part of Portland, and twice in recent weeks they have employed non-English speaking persons to hang door-hanger Ads on doors throughout our neighborhood. I know they don't speak English because as one approached our door, I opened the front door and took it by hand and offered it back to him explaining that I had no use for it ... then I asked him who had hired him, and what they were paying, but he only spoke in Spanish, except to say that he does not speak any English. So QWest can afford to pay their executives millions while they lose more customers and their stock price sinks because their executives display such revolutionary business savvy that allows them to figure out that hiring likely illegal's to distribute their advertising costs less than paying American citizens to simply walk through neighborhoods and place those same door-hangers. No-doubt that is too labor-intensive for actual American citizens to perform ... and God knows real American citizens ... the ones here in Portland who are straining the resources of the local food banks and have fallen off the unemployment rolls are all too well-off to accept such employment. Sheez. I'm telling you, it is time to Storm the Bastille. And, it's coming  this November. Then fuck 'em, let 'em eat cake.

First the Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopolous fiasco, now Disney's Mickey-Mouse ABC's Diane Sawyer & Brian Ross Swipe MoJo!

Main Stream Media flat blows these days. CBS's evening news is little more than a friggin' infomercial for American Idol, and ABC and NBC fly the flag of the Corporatocracy every chance they get.

Excerpt from Mother Jones Magazine, with emphasis added by me:

[snip]

"But did ABC News' top investigative reporter, Brian Ross, have to swipe the story from us?

In the lead-in to the piece, Diane Sawyer calls it an "exclusive Brian Ross investigation." Exclusive? How so? On March 12, Mother Jones first reported that Parsley, whom McCain had recently campaigned with and hailed as "a spiritual guide," had written a book in 2005, Silent No More, in which he essentially called for the eradication of Islam and branded the entire faith as a satanic conspiracy. The article noted that McCain had accepted Parsley's endorsement and explained that Parsley is a key political player in Ohio, where he has registered and driven to the polls tens of thousands of social conservative voters. Many websites and blogs linked to the article.

Following up on this piece, two weeks ago, Mother Jones and Brave New Films released a video which showed Parsley railing against Islam "as an anti-Christ religion that intends, through violence, to conquer the world" and basically calling for its destruction. The video juxtaposed Parsley's extreme anti-Islam rhetoric with video of McCain hailing Parsley at a February 26, 2006 campaign rally (the same rally featured in Ross' report)."

McCain takes flip-flopping to new heights. McFlippity McFloppity McCain. McSame is a cluster. McCain is running low on Ministers. First Hagee, now Parsley, even Reverend Huck is damaged goods ever since stepping on his thing at the NRA. Can't really turn to the Methodists coz they're all fired up trying to stop the Bush library from defiling SMU. I think Falwell endorsed McSame but then died. Maybe the Christian Right hasn't forgiven Georgie and the GOP for stiffing them on that whole faith-based initiative bidness. Yeah, it's lookin' a little bleak for McCain and the Christian Conservative crowd ... and the GOP!

Portland for Obama - I Believe.

A perfect day in Portland. Sunny; temps around 81 degrees; the 28th Anniversary of the eruption of the Mt. St. Helens volcano.

"The eruption was the most significant to occur in the contiguous 48 U.S. states in recorded history."-AP

Portland history may one day compare the political significance, the scale, and the scope of the Obama political appearance to those of Mt. St. Helens, but in the positive. Two massive eruptions ... one an awakening of a dormant volcano, the second an awakening of WE-THE-PEOPLE, too long subdued.

White House Spokeswoman Dana Perino has the brain-power that God granted to a Soap Bubble

Perino: Bush’s Comments Were Not ‘Aimed’ At Obama, But Do ‘Include’ Him»

To steal Joe Biden's line-of-the-day:

BULLSHIT!

Dear Tennessee Republican Party: Cindy McCain: drug addict and thief; so be careful who you attack coz THIS election cycle, the Swift Boaters get Swift Boated in a nanosecond!

Yeah, that's what we need, a First Lady who was a pill-popping druggie like Lush Bimbaugh. She stole from a non-profit medical relief organization to support her HABIT, too. How low is that?

Hey way to pick 'em McSame! And what number wife is Cindy, again?

Unlike in previous election cycles, if we can't get along, we're gonna get it on, this time around. Ya wanna play nasty? Ya wanna play rough? To coin the shrub's own line: BRING IT ON

Hey, don't take my word for it:

The United Steelworkers Endorse Obama

Gee, it sounds like Hillary was wrong again. Sounds to me like blue collar, white collar and every color collar favors Barack Obama! Besides the steelworkers, the President of the Communications Workers of America provided his personal endorsement of Barack Obama too. The Steel Workers had previously endorsed John Edwards. So, it looks like the Clinton camp was wrong when they said the Edwards endorsement didn't mean much, too. Wrong again, Clintonistas!

B.B.B. = Bush, Biden, and Bullshit!

FINALLY! A United States Senator, Delaware's Joe Biden, tells it like it is, publicly! But first, my own take on Bush:

Bush is a fucking moron and all but an ever shrinking minority of Americans have figured that out finally!

Any of those who ever voted for this pinheaded dipstick named 'Bush' owe their nation a make-up call ... Bushies owe this nation a correction ... Republican'ts owe their nation their vote for Democrats ... Bush supports' initial error has been so damn injurious to America that Bush voters owe it to their nation to vote a straight Democratic party line ticket this time around, and that's just for starters!

Bush is a nimrod, a pinhead ... the dude is defective. The story goes that Georgie's muther drank while carrying his lame ass, and I think he is retarded as a direct result of her stupidity ... but how damn dumb were those who ever voted for this mutant? WE TOLD YOU SO! That's right you S.O.B.s, we friggin' told you so! Maybe you'll be smart enough to listen to the majority THIS time around:

[snip]

This is bullshit. This is malarkey. This is outrageous. Outrageous for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, sit in the Knesset…and make this kind of ridiculous statement,”

[snip]

“He’s the guy [Bush] who’s weakened us. He’s the guy that’s increased the number of terrorists in the world. His policies have produced this vulnerability the United States has. His intelligence community pointed that out not me. The NIE has pointed that out and what are you talking about, is he going to fire Condi Rice? Condi Rice has talked about the need to sit down. So his first two appeasers are Rice and Gates. I hope he comes home and does something.

Biden quoted Gates saying Wednesday that we “need to figure out a way to develop some leverage and then sit down and talk with them.” [one of several SOURCE(s)]

YOU GO JOE! And HEY PELOSI, GET IMPEACHMENT BACK ON THE DAMN TABLE, OR GET YOUR OWN LAME ASS TO THE CURB!

This level of public honesty by Joe Biden goes a long way toward forgiving Joe's suck-up vote on bankruptcy reform ... almost.

BUSH: Worst damn President in the history of the world. A complete and totally useless dumb-ass. And Georgie, hold your damn breath while you wait for history to paint it any differently.

VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA for PRESIDENT!!!

City of Portland, OR. City Council, No. 1, I Voted for Amanda Fritz!

The Sunday Oregonian edition for May 4, 2008 made Amanda Fritz their 'recommendation' for City of Portland City Council, No. 1. The Oregonian republished their recommendations in list format last Sunday 5/11/08 and still Amanda Fritz remains their 'recommendation'.

I seldom agree with the Oregonian newspaper's endorsements / recommendations but on this race, I agree/concur with the Oregonian Newspaper's recommendation of Amanda Fritz for City Council, No. 1 to replace Sam Adams.

Here is what The Oregonian Newspaper wrote about Amanda, in making their recommendation:

"In a strong crop of candidates running to replace Adams, Amanda Fritz, a nurse, neighborhood activist and former planning commissioner, is the most proven, polished and capable of getting things done." [SOURCE]

The choice was easy for my wife and I. Why we voted for Amanda Fritz:

For starters, Amanda has been a Registered Nurse since 1981. That's a damn noble profession and a lot of 'real' hard work.

Amanda is the mother of 3 according to her bio, and being a parent, be-it mother or father, is the world's toughest job.

Besides being a RN for 27 years, Amanda has done other real work as well ... Salvation Army, Audubon Society, Summer Camp Cook, Restaurant Food preparer and cashier. Those gigs qualify her to truly GET-IT when it comes to the real working-class.

Amanda's prior government experience appears to be much more extensive than even that listed in the voter guide, according to her election filing form.

Amanda is practically our neighbor, in the same quadrant of the city as we live (SW). Amanda Blogs, I Blog.

In addition to all of those numerous reasons to favor Amanda Fritz, I have some reasons to vote against one of her more publicized opponents, Chris Smith, whose campaign is spending plenty to run radio Ads in opposition to Amanda Fritz. I have spoken to at least one prior co-worker of Chris Smith's (Christopher P. Smith, 2343 NW Pettygrove St.). Someone who worked alongside Chris from approximately 1988 through 1996, with Tektronix in Wilsonville. The Chris Smith that was characterized to me sounds, to me, to be a complete yuppie-scum member of the Corporatocracy.

I prefer and voted for Amanda Fritz for City of Portland, City Council, No.1!

UnionFacts.org is a Shill for the Corporatocracy. Why is Portland's Fox Affiliate KPTV-12 Anti American Worker?

Dear Oregonians,

Everyone knows that it is Primary Election Season in Oregon. We are all being exposed to various groups promoting their agendas. Some legit, and some simply bullshit.

During the lunch hour today (Friday, May 9, 2008) I saw a television Ad running on KGW (broadcast channel 8) that I found highly misleading/slanted and provocative ... an insult to our intelligence.

The Ad was simply a right-wing-nut attack upon Organized Labor and Unions. It was an attack from the shadows, and by lackeys of the Corporatocracy. My first response was to check the domain registration for the domain name/URL being promoted in the Ad, to see who is behind it. And "behind" is the operative word.

I discovered that the registrant of that domain name prefers SECRECY; no surprise there, based upon the nature of their Ad. The cowards who created it obviously anticipate a highly negative response, and simply stated, they don't have the balls to confront responders.

I called the station (KGW 503.226.5000) and had to leave a voice-mail message. They have not called me back yet, I doubt if they ever will.

Connecting the dots (reads: follow the money and the whores), keep in mind that KGW is an NBC affiliate and NBC is owned by GE; GE is a key player in the 'Military-Industrial Complex' that Eisenhower warned us about. I don't know if KGW's station license and FCC regulations require them to disclose the contact information for their paid advertisers or not ... but I intend to find out, and I'll leave it to others to decide whether KGW is about the money, or about the whores, or both.

More poking around on the 'net revealed a possible link between that Ad's hate-speech and these old, ubber-conservative anti-organized-labor types (reads: GOP Republican-types) and what I found makes me wonder even more about the timing of the Ads.

Dickberman Richard "DICK" Berman (don't ya find it interesting that some of the biggest haters in America are named "DICK" (i.e. Cheney, Nixon, Berman)? and James Bowers. Click the link to DICK's bio and you'll discover that DICKIE has made it his life's work to bash American Workers and Organized Labor. Here is an excerpt (emphasis added), but ya just gotta visit their web-site, by click the link, to see a picture of exactly what we're dealing with here; heck, if he wasn't filthy rich he could pass for a Clinton supporter, you-know old, white, and angry:

... Berman was previously employed as the Executive Vice President of Public Affairs for the Pillsbury Restaurant Group, where he was responsible for the government relations programs of all restaurant operations. Berman also was a (anti)labor lawyer for the United States Chamber of Commerce, the Dana Corporation, and the Bethlehem Steel Corporation.

Rick Berman has testified on numerous occasions before committees of the various state legislatures, the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives and has been named a "Star Rainmaker" on Capitol Hill by The Hill, a popular Washington, DC newspaper. He has appeared on all major television networks and has organized national coalitions on a variety of issues."

What's a "Star Rainmaker" you might ask, well here is the dictionary definition:

"Slang. an executive or lawyer with exceptional ability to attract clients, use political connections, increase profits, etc.: The president has several rainmakers among his advisers."

Some might shorten that formal definition to a single word: 'WEASEL'. Certainly not the type of person who toils for a living or actually manufactures anything (except lies) or contributes anything of substance to the greater good. Pretty much a just butt-muncher.

DICK Berman is a LOBBYIST whose organization can be hired to attack any cause. Here is a report by 'Consumer Deception' about this ass-hole's attack on PETA: http://www.consumerdeception.com/

Here is an excerpt from a Washington Post article about this stain named DICK (emphasis and comments added):

"But even the MOD Squad is a pale imitation of the reality of the Beltway's most outrageous advocate, who goes by the name of Rick Berman. In recent months Berman has been in the news for placing full-page ads in major newspapers (funding sources unidentified) that gently compare America's union leaders to Fidel Castro and like authoritarians. The unionists' sin, Berman argues, is their support for allowing workers to join unions simply by signing affiliation cards rather than subjecting themselves to a National Labor Relations Act election process in which pro-union workers are frequently fired.

But Berman's salvos against unions are just the latest in a line of attacks he's leveled against drunk-driving laws, anti- smoking statutes, food safety ordinances and minimum-wage standards. He is, broadly speaking, the lobbyist for the Hobbesian state of nature.

Working chiefly under the aegis of his Center for Consumer Freedom, Berman has accused Mothers Against Drunk Driving and kindred groups (in the words of one of his Web sites) of "junk science, intimidation tactics, and even threats of violence to push their radical agenda." Another Berman Web site was devoted to dismissing the dangers of mercury levels in fish.

[nice ... bashing 'Mothers Against Drunk Drivers' ... that speaks volumes about this steaming dung-pile's credibility, aye?]

Berman's center was jump-started in 1995 with money from Philip Morris, and, thanks to memos that were made public in the discovery process during the lawsuits against Big Tobacco, his strategic vision is now plain for all to see. "The concept," he wrote Philip Morris at the time, "is to unite the restaurant and hospitality industries in a campaign to defend their consumers and marketing programs against attacks from anti-smoking, anti-drinking, anti-meat, etc. activists." The industries apparently have appreciated Berman's work. According to the Center for Media and Democracy, a former Berman associate has produced documents showing that Coca-Cola, Wendy's, Tyson Foods, Cargill and Outback Steakhouse are among Berman's largest donors.

The law may have hauled Abramoff off the stage, and DeLay may be huddling with his counsel and his Creator to plan his next move. But Rick Berman rolls merrily along, an inexhaustible source of material for the Reitmans, Buckleys and all who aspire to chronicle our depravities." [SOURCE]

[nice ... DICK is said to be a lower life form than Jack Abramoff and Tom DeLay]

PRWeek (Public Relations) magazine's Hamilton Nolan added this about this back in the June 26, 2006 edition; Pg. 25, about this not-so-dynamic-duo's anti-union campaign:

"Perhaps the most visible development in the field this year has been
the establishment of the Center for Union Facts (CUF), an anti-union
group backed by undisclosed corporate interests which has undertaken a
powerful multi-year, multimillion-dollar push to discredit organized
labor.
James Bowers, a creative director at CUF's firm Berman &
Company, is responsible for the group's public campaigns
, which center
around an extensive Web site supported by advertising campaigns and
national media coverage." [SOURCE]

Richard Berman single handedly makes the case for a woman's right to choose. He's an abortion gone wrong. If you believe that smoking is good for your lungs, and that driving drunk is a safe thing to do, DICKIE is your boy.

Anyway, I could go on and on, presenting all sorts of parallels between these two greedy haters and everything negative for working-class Americans, but it is easier to ask you a few questions which might help to challenge the logic behind their nonsensical Ads:

Conservative, GOP Republican Ronald Reagan single-handedly decimated the Air Traffic Controller and Airline Unions in the 80s.

So, if you are old enough to have flown on the airlines back then, like I am, and you've also flown recently, lemme ask you this question: Was flying a better experience in the 80s and before, or has it been a better experience for you recently?

Anti-Union GOP Republicans and BushCo, along with Corporations like Wal-Mart have been running this show called the American Capitalist system for the past several decades now (including the Republican Congress through the Clinton years) ... what has been the net result for American workers and the directly linked American middle class? Not so hot, huh?

Where have these coalitions shipped our jobs? Overseas.

How many Americans have lost access to employer-based health care coverage? 47-Million plus? Hell there are only something like 300-million of us in total. There is increasingly two groups in America, the HAVES and the HAVE NOTs; THEM versus US. GOP Republicans and their failed economic theories, like those of these two misguided, anti-Union Cretins, have brought us the weakened economy threatening the very existence of the American Middle Class.

How many of you know of stories about corporations hiring part time and temporary workers to displace full-timers with paid benefits?

Again, I could go on, and on, drawing parallels between the stupidity of  the premise presented by DICK Berman, James Bowers, and everything negative for the American middle class. But, an analogy probably sums it up best ...

If you were a player in the NFL, would you want to be in the room alone with billionaire franchise owners like the Washington Redskins' Daniel Snyder, or the Dallas Cowboys' Jerry Jones to negotiate the terms of your employment agreement? Or, would you want an agent and the Players' Union there to help you negotiate? We can't all afford our own agent, but we can afford to VOTE to elect political candidates who will at least pass laws making it possible for you to organize and become part of a Union that can help you negotiate a fair deal.

Both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are in Portland this weekend. Hillary claims to represent the best interests of specifically hard working, middle class, non-college-degreed, white workers (she specified the race). Personally, I want a candidate that represents the interest of ALL workers, even if they are sky-blue-pink. And the best way to do that is to support workers' rights to organize. PERIOD.

Another question I have is, could it be that in her desperation Hillary's campaign, or perhaps McCain's campaign, or who knows, maybe Karl Rove, or the Swift-Boaters paid DICK Berman's WASHINGTON, D.C. based Company for the timing of these Ads, hmmm?

And still another question: Do Oregonian's want some "Star Rainmaker" in WASHINGTON, D.C. telling us more of the same old, same old? I don't. Oh sure, the Unions all have offices in D.C. too, but they also have offices right here in Portland, and they employ Oregonians who become feet-on-the-street and live voices on the phone, not robots ... the message is OPEN and receptive to your feedback. You won't be limited to yelling at the TV screen!

When you see one of those Ads from DICK & their dark-side, there isn't much you can do to respond directly, beyond yelling at the boob-tube.

But, when someone has the 'nads to walk right up to your front door and look you in the eye, and ask for your support, the way the community affiliate of the AFL-CIO, "Working America" has been doing, or when one of their phone-bank callers rings your phone and identifies themselves for the same purpose, or perhaps a volunteer from SEIU does, those are LOCAL people from your very own community. They are not some rich executive/lawyer hiding 3,000 miles away in Washington, D.C. behind the skirt of his layers of executive secretaries! No. those are real folks outside in the rain or shine! So who ya gonna trust, local, regular folks, willing to contact you one-on-one, and accept your responses eye-to-eye or some rich girlie-men hiding in D.C. and sending their message by proxy (TV Ad) instead? Doesn't that say something to you about the honesty of either's message? It does to me.

The lawn sign is in the front yard. But, I dunno if I can afford the gas to fire-up the lawn mower to mow the lawn around it!

Here are some closing quotes that seem timely to me:

"The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness."--John Kenneth Galbraith

"Bad politicians are sent to Washington by good people who don't vote."--William E. Simon

"Not until the creation and maintenance of decent conditions of life for all people are recognized and accepted as a common obligation of all people and all countries - not until then shall we, with a certain degree of justification, be able to speak of humankind as civilized."--Albert Einstein

"Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber."--Plato

"Democracy is when the indigent, and not the men of property, are the rulers."--Aristotle

"The most important political office is that of the private citizen."--Louis D. Brandeis

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." --Margaret Mead

All of those people, quoted above, are more intelligent deceased than DICK Berman is alive.

The "DICKS" of the world promote a philosophy of "Divide and Conquer" and Unions promote the opposite: "United We Stand". You choose.

VOTE A DEMOCRATIC TICKET!

In timing with the visit to Portland by the Presidential candidates, I wanna disclose my own vote for a presidential candidate. I'm more than half a century old, I'm white, I'm male, I'm working poor, and I'm voting for the next President of the United States:

Supreme Court Supremely Stupid on Indiana Vote

The current crop of Supreme Court Justices have done for the Supreme Court what George W. Bush has done for the Office of President; made a mockery of it.

Just more proof that Conservatives can screw-up a train wreck.

The net impact of the Supreme Court's most recent, dumb-ass, decision was seen during this week's Indiana Primary Election.

Summary: A dozen nuns were refused the right to vote because they don't have drivers licenses.

Conservatives always want to restrict the number of those who can vote, while Liberals always want to include everyone. Therefore, if you are a Conservative, you are always trying to limit Democracy, and if you are Liberal you seek to expand Democracy. How plain and simple does it have to be before everyone GETS that to be a Conservative (reads: Republican) is to be anti-Democracy (reads: a dumb-ass)?

Here is an excerpt from Mother Jones on this incident, with my own bold and italic emphasis added to highlight the bits I found most revealing within it:

'In its decision, the court insisted the state had a legitimate interest in depriving lots of people of their right to vote because it would deter phantom fraudsters, even though the state has never had a single documented case of voter impersonation fraud. Clearly, the justices hadn't anticipated the sisters, who don't drive and didn't have much need of ID in the convent. Now shut out of court and the voting booth, the Indiana brides of Christ will have to appeal to God for a remedy.' [SOURCE]

It is time to place term-limits on Supreme Court Justices rather than permit lifetime appointment. I think that somewhere between a 9-to-15 year term limit makes more sense, and would be better for America than the current life-time appointment.

Clinton to become McCain Vice Presidential Running Mate!

Mccainclinton08 As I have typed many times already, Hillary is a Republican masquerading as a Democrat.

Besides previously saying that McCain would make a better Presidential candidate than her own Democratic party rival, she continues to express her envy and admiration for all-things-Republican:

If we had the rules the Republicans had, I’d be the nominee."  [Source: NYT]

Lemme guess, she mis-spoke?

Interestingly, you'll have to do some digging, at this hour, to find very many sources of the full text that includes that specific line of Hillary's. Makes ya wonder why most of Main Stream Media has neglected to include THAT specific line when reporting her words today.

So, there she goes again wishin' she was a Republican once again (she was a full-fledged Republican 'Goldwater Girl' in college).

Then there was the McCain-Clinton Gas Tax Holiday that would cost just one state alone (California) 23,107 jobs; be bad for jobs and the economy nationwide.

And then there is Hillary's Republican-style deficit-spending and mis-management of her own campaign's finances; requiring her to again issue a personal loan to her campaign in order to continue in the race. As she struggles to manage her own campaign finances, I guess we can expect that when that phone rings at 3AM, it'll be a collection agent calling (from China / Saudi Arabia probably)!

AGAIN, look for Hillary Clinton to be McCain's Vice Presidential running mate once she finally concedes the nomination to Barack Obama.

OBAMA '08!!!

Hillary Clinton: 'Rich People, God Bless Us', while sucking up to Bill O'Reilly on Fox; Look for Hillary to be McCain's Running mate!

Who is the elitist?

Here ya go folks, the REAL Hillary Clinton; the one I have been saying all along is really a Republican.

Remember, Hillary was a full fledged Republican 'Goldwater girl' in college; was a member of the board of directors of right-wing Wal-Mart for 6+/- years; takes monies from ultra-conservative Rupert Murdoch, has openly endorsed Republican McCain for President over fellow Democrat Barack Obama, and thinks that lobbyists are people too. ;-)

You watch ... when Hillary finally concedes the Democratic nomination to Barack Obama, she will join forces with her real party and accept McCain's offer to be his running mate.

The Clintonistas immediately began lying their asses off to try and cover for Hillary saying that she said something different than what she really said. Next thing ya know, Bill will be out there telling us that she was just tired and mis-spoke (again). Sheez. Let's roll the tape ... let's go to instant reply to make the call ourselves:

Yep, she's a Republican all right! A vote for Hillary Clinton, is a vote for a Republican. I damn-sure don't want to see this happening: Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton. Dear voters in Indiana and North Carolina, please help put Hillary out of this race; we'll definitely be doing our part in Oregon, by May 20th.

Democrats Win Louisiana House Seat Held by Republicans Since 1974! Next up Mississippi. Save your Dixie Cups, the South will Rise again!

In an obvious sign of the times, and perhaps of a pending tsunami, Democrat Don Cazayoux took an open Congressional seat previously held by Republicans since 1974! That's 34 years; 3-plus decades, and along damn time, too!

It happened in the conservative 6th district around Baton Rouge. A place typically as red as red gets.

Making it an even bigger victory is the fact that GOP Republicans resorted to their typical bullshit dirty politics and pulled out all the stops to try and derail Cazayoux's campaign. WE-THE-PEOPLE were not fooled, and the will of the people could not be hijacked in what was the second special election victory of the year for DEMS!

Cazayoux replaces 11-term GOP Republican Richard Baker.

GOP Republican Baker retired in February to do guess what ... that's right, to do what all GOP Republicans aspire to do, become a lobbyist for hedge fund managers (reads: money-grubbing -whore).

This gives DEMS a second campaign boost, this year, toward extending their majority in the House of Representatives.

Democrats won in an Illinois special election to replace former House Speaker Dennis Hastert earlier this year.

Next-up for special elections is Mississippi's 1st district to fill the seat of appointed Sen. Roger Wicker (R). If DEMS win that one too, GOP Republicans nationwide will be in full-on shit-a-brick mode.

Not only won't the Republican'ts regain a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, very likely they will have their collective asses handed to them from sea to shining sea, YEA!

What DEMS really need now, is to elect Jeff Merkley to the U.S. Senate from Oregon, to replace Bush bum-licker: Gordon Smith.

Jefferson Warned Us

  • "If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation then by deflation, the banks and the corporations will grow up around them, will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."--Thomas Jefferson

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies."--Thomas Jefferson

War

  • "I like guys who've never been there that criticize us who've been there. I like that. I like guys who got five deferments and never been there and send people to war, and then don't like to hear suggestions about what needs to be done."--John Murtha Congressman (D-PA) -------
"War is a rackett"--Major General Smedley Darlington Butler, United States Marine Corps, 1881 - 1940, Double recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor.
    I'm inclined to agree.--DA
    -------
"Many of those who want to rush this country into war and think it would be so quick and easy don't know anything about war. They come at it from an intellectual perspective, versus having sat in jungles or foxholes and watched their friends get their heads blown off."--Republican Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska
    -------
"We're in Bush country," Bradach said. "There will be a lot of detractors, people saying we aren't patriots. I'd like to know what they've given up.

There is no way our children died in vain, not if we pay attention, not if we learn. I'm proud of my son. I love the Marines. And I'm very much against this war and always have been.

I guess our children went and were sacrificed for us to take a look at what we let happen. We let this war happen. If nothing else, this is a huge lesson. Watch who you vote for. Watch what they're telling you. Don't be so afraid."
--Lynn Bradach, mother of a fallen American Hero, from Oregon, in support of Cindy Sheehan
